Olivia, who will be representing Malaysia at the Mrs. World pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States later this month revealed the unique dress to the public on Tuesday (6 December).
She also made a mark in the Malaysia Book of Records showcasing a national costume decorated with the most number of coins ever!
According to BERNAMA, the beautiful dress was designed by Sarawakian designer, Saran Anak Lagong.
Why the 5 sen coins? Well, it’s because the coins featured some of Sabah and Sarawak traditional elements, one of them being the Destar Siga cloth which is an indigenous type of woven fabric created by the Kadazandusun community in Sabah and is worn as a headdress during traditional celebrations.
“I am so excited to be able to represent my beloved country Malaysia at the international platform and to meet like minded ladies from around the world, who share the same sentiments,” she wrote in her Instagram post.
Netizens took to the comment section to send their love and support to the beauty queen before she sets off on her journey to the United States.
We’re so excited for you, Olivia! Good luck and make Malaysia proud!
