A TikTok video claiming to show a Malaysian man trapped in a tree by a Malayan tiger has gone viral, drawing both fascination and scepticism online. Many viewers questioned whether the encounter was genuine or staged, but the footage has raised important reminders about how people should behave around wildlife.

The video, which has surpassed four million views, shows a man perched high in a tree with his motorcycle overturned on the ground below. At one point, the camera captures what appears to be a tiger partially hidden in the undergrowth, while growls are heard as night falls.
The man in the video, identified as YouTuber Fahad Mk, is known for content exploring urban legends and supernatural themes. His alleged tiger encounter attracted millions of views and reactions on Facebook and TikTok, but scepticism followed. Some noted the tiger barely moved, while others highlighted Fahad’s reputation for sensational videos. Fahad, however, insists the event was real and said he spent four hours in the tree before descending.
Regardless of the video’s authenticity, wildlife experts urge the public not to provoke or sensationalise encounters with endangered animals such as the Malayan tiger. Such content risks creating unnecessary panic, spreading misinformation, and encouraging unsafe behaviour in the wild.
If you encounter a tiger or any wild animal, remain calm, avoid approaching it, and contact the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) for guidance. Sharing sensationalised content may gain attention, but respecting wildlife and prioritising safety is far more important.
