Man Opens Malaysian-Style Restaurant in India After Working Here for Years

Malaysia’s food scene isn’t just something to experience; it’s something that stays with you. And for one Indian man, his time spent in Malaysia didn’t just fill his stomach — it inspired a business idea.

Known as Kani Boy on TikTok, the enterprising foodie recently opened a Malaysian-inspired eatery in India, introducing a taste of Malaysia to his community back home.

After spending time working in Malaysia, he returned with more than just memories. He brought back recipes, flavours, and a dream.

The result? A newly launched restaurant that proudly serves some of Malaysia’s most beloved dishes. From the spicy tang of Tomyam to the fluffy comfort of Roti Canai, and national treasures like Nasi Lemak, Mee Sotong, Satay, and even Apam Balik, the menu is a tribute to the country's vibrant street food culture.

His restaurant officially opened its doors in July, just weeks after completing renovations in June. It’s already gaining attention online.

Back in Malaysia, social media users are beaming with pride to see local favourites being celebrated abroad. Many even dropped comments on his videos asking for the exact location so they can swing by when visiting India.

“Congrats, Anne! Malaysians heading to India now have a makan spot,” one user wrote.

Another added with humour, “Where’s your shop? We might ‘accidentally’ end up there!”

It’s a delicious reminder that Malaysian food truly knows no borders. When something tastes that good, it deserves to be shared.
