The 9-year-old cat, owned by Malaysian couple Shaharudin Shuib and Rooaida Mohd Darus, impressed judges with her gentle and affectionate demeanour, making her the star of the show.
Representing Malaysia, Baby triumphed over hundreds of cats from across the globe, including her “sibling” Miko, who is also owned by Shaharudin and Rooaida. Organised by the Fédération Internationale Féline (FIFe), the prestigious event celebrated Baby’s remarkable journey from stray cat to international champion.

Originally a stray, Baby was rescued from the streets by Shaharudin and Rooaida, who have since nurtured her friendly nature. “We’ve introduced Baby to public spaces and local cat shows from a young age to help her adjust to crowded environments,” Rooaida shared with Berita Harian. This exposure has fostered Baby’s calm temperament, which won her favour with judges and audiences alike.
The cat’s grooming, meticulously handled by Shaharudin, also caught the judges’ attention, with Baby’s soft fur adding to her charm. Competing against 1,500 other cats, this win is Baby’s crowning achievement, a testament to her resilience and the couple’s dedication.
Malaysia’s presence at the event extended beyond Baby; the Malaysian Cat Club (KKM) sent eight other cats, including British Shorthair and Bengal breeds, to raise awareness about responsible pet care.
Baby’s success marks a proud moment for Malaysia in the global pet community, highlighting the love and care that can transform even a once-homeless cat into an international champion.
