This year, the event was held on Saturday, 4 March at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California in the United States.

But what actually got our attention is YouTuber, Aqil Zulkiflee being the only Malaysian nominated in the ‘Favourite Asian Creator’ category.

Aqil was nominated alongside other amazing Asian creators like Gen Halilintar from Indonesia, HIKAKIN, Japan and Niana Guerrero from the Philippines.

Other categories included famous international celebrities like BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and more! Just imagine being nominated in an award show with these amazing names. Unreal!

In his acceptance speech, Aqil said that it was an honour to represent Malaysia and that he was actually surprised when he received the email from Nickelodeon informing him that he had been nominated for an award.

“I did not expect to be chosen because the other nominees are simply incredible,” he told Harian Metro.

“Opportunities like this don’t come along very often so I'll work as hard as I can,” he said.

Aqil, who is 27-years-old, started uploading content on his YouTube page during the Movement Control Order (MCO) in 2020. His account now has over 1.73 million subscribers who follow him for his fun and playful content.

Wah, how does it feel to own a Nickelodeon blimp?

Congratulations Aqil, this is an amazing achievement!
