Legendary Malaysian singer-songwriter Sudirman Haji Arshad is one of the 33 Pahang icons featured in the murals at Kuantan Street Art, located in Jalan Besar.
The mural project, Project 06, features the late singer together with other iconic Pahang symbols and attractions such as the trishaw and the elephant, which represent the state’s identity.

According to the Malay Mail, the mural was drawn by 13 Pahang artists aged between 26 and 52-years-old and will be completed by the end of this month!
Kuantan Municipal Council (MBK) public relations officer, Norkamawati Kamal said the late singer deserved a spot on the walls of Pahang as he was known for his songs and was even known as Elvis Presley of Malaysia.
“In his birthplace in Temerloh, a street named Jalan Sudirman was named to remember him as many still think highly of him up to today,” she said.

Norkamawati added that the late artist managed to juggle his career and ventures and managed to be successful.
“This shows that no matter what career you are focusing on in your life, if you give it your all, you will be successful!”
The mural project started in September last year and took the team six months to finish before its scheduled completion at the end of this month.
Wah, must be so cool!
We can’t wait for travel restrictions to be lifted so that we can stop by and take some awesome pictures with the mural!
