Police are currently looking for a male suspect who snatched a woman’s handbag after rear-ending her car which forced her to stop in the middle of the road.

The incident was caught on camera and shows a man wearing a yellow helmet and a gray and white long sleeve t-shirt, running back towards his motorcycle after grabbing the woman’s handbag.
The video has since gone viral on Facebook.
Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said in a statement that the victim then chased down the suspect by foot until a t-junction. However, the suspect managed to speed up to flee the scene.

“We have opened three investigation papers under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery without a weapon,” said Ahsmon.
If convicted, the suspect could face a jail sentence of up to 14 years and he shall also be liable to a fine or to caning.
