Panic buying in Singapore has gone viral over the past few days, amidst the coronavirus outbreak- with 45 cases reported in Singapore as of today.
Singaporeans are stocking up their pantries with non-perishable food items and some grocery stores are reportedly being emptied out completely.

In Malaysia however, things are still pretty chill for now (let’s keep it that way!)
A TikTok user posted a video, that recently went viral on Facebook, of him dancing in front of fully-stocked shelves in Malaysia grocery stores to poke fun at ‘panicking’ Singaporeans.

Tawfik Daud posted the 13 seconds video of him dancing at different aisles of the supermarket showing all the fully-stocked food items with captions like, “KL so calm”, “If not enough, come to KL” and “Don’t worry, still got stock”.
The video captioned “Meanwhile in KL…” has garnered over 511,000 views!
Some shoppers in a local grocery store in Johor also alleged that some Singaporeans have started stocking up items from Malaysia, too.
While we understand the growing fear, especially as the number of virus cases continue to grow, we hope everyone tries to keep calm. Don’t forget to get your official coronavirus updates from verified government sources!
