We get it, what’s going on right now is scary! But this is NOT a total lockdown - movement restriction means that citizens are encouraged to stay home, but if you need to go and get groceries, there is no one stopping you!
Photos are now popping up on social media of Malaysians lining up at hypermarkets and stores to stock up on essentials like toilet papers, instant noodles, and frozen food.
Twitter user Khairul Azri, posted photos on his profile of a few Malaysians who were allegedly ‘panic-buying’ at Tesco, Cheras.
Other locals on Twitter have also called on Malaysians to calm down:
Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has reassured everyone that there is no need for panic-buying as there will be enough food for everyone.
Also, crowding the supermarkets is not good either because you might be spreading the viruses there! So it’s better to stay home and only go out if you need to buy food or to go to work.
We’re all in this together, guys, so take what you need, and leave some for other people too!
