Health director-general, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah recently took to his Facebook page to pay tribute to ALL of our brave frontliners, who selflessly and tirelessly, even risking their own health and safety to battle against the deadly virus.

“Three years have passed in the blink of an eye since we first got hit by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said in his post.

“The first case was detected on 25 January 2020, and at that time it was known as the 2019-nCoV. I would like to thank all of our frontliners. Let us hope that this pandemic will end soon.”

DG Hisham also expressed his sympathy for the families who have lost their loved ones to the virus. 

As of today, Malaysia has recorded over 5.03 million COVID-19 cases infections and 36,933 deaths as of writing.

Amazingly, about 98.4% of the adult population in the country have received full vaccinations, while 84.3% of the total population have received two doses of the vaccine.

However, we can’t be complacent, and must always take care of ourselves and our loved ones, and the first step to keep yourself safe is by getting the booster shot as soon as possible!
