The King And Queen Setting A Good Example For All Of Us During This Difficult Time

Mar 23, 2020

Our King and Queen are known for their kindness and compassion and now more than ever, they are here to help us go through this difficult time, together.

Just three days ago, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah went out to review the implementation of the Movement Control Order around Kuala Lumpur.

His Majesty spent about half an hour on the roads along with police officers to personally observe the operations and advise road users to comply with the Movement Control Order. The areas patrolled included Semantan Road, Hartamas Road, Tun H.S. Lee, Loke Yew Road, Ampang Road, TAR Road, Bukit Bintang Road, Sultan Ismail Road and around Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC).

In a video posted on the Istana Negara official Instagram, he was seen driving with his son while advising the public to obey the current instruction announced by the government.

“I saw plenty of vehicles on the road and this is definitely not a good sign” he said.

"I hope this can be reduced as soon as possible for the good of all Malaysians, especially in Kuala Lumpur," he added.

His Majesty also expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the police in charge of the operation for keeping the nation safe.

While His Majesty is making sure that all citizens are obeying the Movement Control Order, the queen, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and the staff from Istana Negara are preparing meals for the COVID-19 frontliners.

Yesterday, Her Majesty prepared pre-packed lunches for the frontliners working at the Sungai Buloh Hospital and the National Crisis Preparedness and Emergency Center (CPRC) at the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Putrajaya.

Through her Instagram account (@airtangan_tunkuazizah), Her Majesty documented all the effort she and staff had put in to assist the frontliners.

"Today I cook for the doctors, nurses, and staff at Sg Buloh Hospital ... May God Almighty bless and protect those serving our country, Malaysia," said Her Majesty via a posting on her Instagram.

The staff at Sungai Buloh hospital expressed their gratitude in getting to taste Her Majesty’s cooking with Malaysia’s Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah sharing the heartwarming news on his Facebook account.

According to him, the healthcare workers were extremely appreciative of Her Majesty’s gesture and were excited that they were able to enjoy “Cheminahsayang” branded homecooked “nasi berlauk” amidst their busy schedules. Dr Noor Hisham also mentioned that delicious meals had lifted the spirits of the frontliners who now were able to save the country with sufficient energy.

In response to their show of gratitude, Her Majesty said in her Instagram post, “ the least I could do for the government servants sacrificing their lives. I salute them, May God bless them and defend them from the virus”

Her Majesty’s dedication in assisting them did not stop there. Just hours ago, Her Majesty had posted many more delicacies to be distributed to healthcare centres such as  Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centr (HUKM) and University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC)

Among the delicacies were fried rice, chicken and egg curry, fried vegetables, omelette, sambal ikan bilis, chocolate chip muffins, fried noodles and we are sure, many more to come. Yum!

While the King and Queen are doing their best to help out during these trying times, netizens across the country took it to social media to express their admiration and appreciation.
