Couple Who Are Not Fully Vaccinated Slapped With RM10,000 Compound For Travelling Interstate

A couple from Perak who are still not fully vaccinated recently attempted interstate travel but unfortunately were caught by authorities. 

The couple were each slapped with a RM5,000 compound. 

According to Kosmo, the Kota Tinggi District Police chief, Superintendent Hussin Zamora said the couple was detained during a compliance check at the Jalan Kulai - Kota Tinggi roadblock (SJR).

“The couple was given a compound for crossing state borders without completing their vaccination.

“Investigations found that they were from Perak heading to Kulai, Johor via the Jalan Kulai-Kota Tinggi highway but were met with a roadblock. They were fined RM5,000 each,” said Hussin. 

The compound issued was under Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021. 

He also advised the public to always adhere to the SOPs implemented by the government.

This is so irresponsible. Please make sure that you’ve completed for vaccination first before travelling, okay guys?
