Were you one of those who received weird text messages from MySejathera yesterday (October 20)?

You must be wondering what happened.

Well, you weren’t the only one. Multiple users took to social media to complain about receiving spam emails and unsolicited one-time passwords.

Don’t worry, though! The Health Ministry has assured that the MySejahtera database had not been breached.

The issues were instead due to the abuse of the app programming interface function by third parties, says MOH.

Apparently, it was caused by irresponsible individuals who misused a feature on the website meant to register premises for MySejahtera QR Codes.

The MySejahtera team has since increased the security level for the application and the website to prevent such incidents from recurring.
