Commuters will no longer need to queue at service counters to buy or activate the My50 pass—it can now be done quickly and conveniently via their smartphones.

Prasarana Group President and CEO, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, said: “Digitising the My50 pass is a progressive step that offers maximum convenience to users. It saves time, increases accessibility, and makes life easier for our loyal passengers.”

The initiative is available to all Malaysian citizens. Users simply need to download the TNG eWallet app on a smartphone that supports the feature, complete an electronic identity verification process, and then purchase the pass digitally, “This convenience is expected to benefit the nearly 250,000 existing My50 users and encourage more city dwellers to switch to public transport,” Azharuddin added.

Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd CEO, Praba Sangarajoo, also highlighted the company’s continued commitment to meaningful service innovation: “At Touch ‘n Go, we’re always looking for ways to improve the lives of Malaysians—whether through technology, convenience, or broader choices. Our innovations go beyond products; they reflect how we address everyday needs: “Every solution we roll out is part of our ongoing effort to make life in Malaysia easier, more flexible, and more efficient.”

He further explained that this strategic collaboration between Touch ‘n Go Group, Prasarana, and the Ministry of Transport marks a key milestone in advancing Malaysia’s public transport system, “With this digital upgrade, Malaysians can now purchase the My50 pass anytime, anywhere. It’s another step forward in our mission to drive digital innovation for all Malaysians,” said Praba.

In the next phase, Prasarana will expand this digital initiative to include other products such as the MyCity pass. The aim is to increase accessibility, reduce dependence on cash transactions, and offer a smoother, faster commuting experience.
