History has been made, after an accountancy student from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) scored the highest marks for the July-December 2019 Professional Accounting Program examination in Malaysia... and the world!
18-year-old, Hakeem Mohammad Akmal, received a 100% mark for the ‘Recording Financial Transactions’ (FA1) paper, thus awarding him the highest recognition in Malaysia and worldwide by the The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
According to Vice-chancellor Prof Emeritus Datuk Ir Dr Mohd Azraai Kassim ,“UiTM is very proud of Hakeem’s achievement. His success shows that with determination and hard work, as well as support from the university, Malaysians can attain global recognition.”
Hakeem started his accountancy program back in July 2019 and had previously scored 9As in his SPM. An alumnus of Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Gombak, Hakeem had obtained a perfect score in the FA1 despite not having any basic knowledge in accountancy.
Congratulations Hakeem and thank you for making Malaysia proud!
