A laser guided system to go to Mars! Where can we sign up?
According to Canadian Engineers, a laser-based technology to go to Mars could drastically reduce the time it’ll take to reach the Red Planet.

For now, it would take around 500 days for humans to reach Mars, according to NASA. Woah, that’s over a year!
However, engineers at McGill University in Canada claim to have created a laser-thermal propulsion technology that employs lasers to heat hydrogen fuel and claims to decrease the journey time to just 45 days…
These large lasers that are being shot from Earth would give power to “photovoltaic arrays on a spacecraft” which could generate electricity and provide thrust. Just like that!
Scientists behind this project hope to use this technology to enable interplanetary travel, which comes at a good time as scientists from all over the world are aiming to send astronauts to Mars in the following decade - and if this works, then it would be a huge step forward for humanity!

Apparently it’s not easy to travel to Mars since missions can only be launched every 26 months when the two planets are at their closest points in their orbits, and humans can get to Mars in six to nine months with the technology we have now.
