Violence is never the solution, as proven in this incident.
On 2nd November, an apartment management committee member got injured when he asked a car owner to remove his vehicle. The car was apparently blocking people from parking in the visitor parking bays, which we all know is a huge nuisance.
The incident, which happened at an apartment block along Section 6, Kota Damansara, saw the victim being kicked a few times. The committee member was replying to messages on the residents' WhatsApp chat group while trying to convince the car owner to move his vehicle. Armed with a metal rod, the suspect refused to move and proceeded to kick the committee member a few times while threatening him with the rod.
Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Mohd Zani Che Din told The Star that the suspect was charged with criminal intimidation and for damaging public property in the process of committing mischief.
As is often the case nowadays, the incident was recorded and uploaded on the apartment block’s Facebook page.
While we are not sure that uploading the video was a great move, it sure is fortunate that there was evidence.
