The long-time rivals were set to meet in the Champions League group stage tomorrow morning (October 29), when Ronnie’s Juventus side entertain Messi’s Barcelona.
However, Ronaldo has now been ruled out of the match after returning another positive Covid-19 test. He was first infected earlier this month.
UEFA rules stipulate that a player must test negative 24-hours before kickoff, but it appears the Portuguese star has missed the deadline.
Ronaldo’s showdown with Messi had grabbed the headlines when the Champions League fixtures were announced.

Tomorrow’s match would have been their first meeting in the tournament since Ronaldo, who was playing for Real Madrid at the time, took on Barca in the semifinal back in 2011/2012.
However, there’s still hope the two will face each other on the field again, when Juve travel to Barca for the return group fixture on December 9th.
