Reds And Citizens Dominate PFA Team Of The Year

Liverpool and Man City have dominated the Professional Footballers’ Association’s Team of the Year.

The Reds – who finished as EPL runners-up – had six players on the list: Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Thiago, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

League champions City were represented by three players, namely Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

Antonio Rudiger and Cristiano Ronaldo completed the list for Chelsea and Man United respectively - the only two other clubs to feature in the all-star XI.

The final list however, was not without controversy.

While nobody can complain about the inclusion of the Liverpool and City stars…Ronaldo’s inclusion on the list has raised a few eyebrows considering his hit-and-miss season for the Red Devils.

This was made worse by Son Heung Min’s omission from the shortlist and the final list, despite the Tottenham attacker finishing the season as the EPL’s joint top scorer opposite Salah.

Incidentally, this is the third snub for the South Korean…who has missed out of the PFA’s individual and team honours as well as the Fans’ Player of the Year nomination.
