L/Kpl Komathi was highly praised by netizens, for her quick action in assisting a pregnant woman who was giving birth inside a taxi.
Earlier this week, an Indonesian woman arrived at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) police booth seeking help for her labour pains. L/Kpl Komathi quickly hailed a taxi to take both of them to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM. The baby however had other plans, as he decided to announce his presence early, while they were on their way to the hospital!
In his statement, Cheras OCPD Astt Comm Mohamed Mokhsein said that that the woman delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 3.7kg. He commended the prompt action of L/KPL Komathi and noted that the baby was given treatment as soon as the mother arrived at the hospital.
L/Kpl Komathi joined the police force on 16 January 2016 and underwent training at Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Kuala Lumpur. She was first posted at Seberang Perai Police District Headquarters in Penang before transferring to Salak Selatan police station in March 2017.
