According to NST, Acting Pasir Mas district police chief, Superintendent Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah stated that the incident occurred at 10 am when the Thai male suspect riding a grey motorcycle abruptly stopped and made a u-turn.

He believes that the man was attempting to flee the roadblock.

The victim, Nasim Aiman Nor Resat from the Pasir Mas district police headquarters (IPD) tried to stop the suspect but was run over by the motorcycle, resulting in a right calf injury.

“Resat was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and received 13 stitches as a result of the injury, while the 19-year-old suspect was arrested and taken to IPD Pasir Mas for further investigation.

“An inspection on the suspect’s motorcycle found a cigarette box and a translucent tube containing 10 red pills, suspected to be drugs,” he told reporters.

He added that the suspect’s urine screening test shows that he was positive for Methamphetamine. The suspect also does not have a valid passport or travel documents.

A 15-seconds video of the victim running over the police officer has since gone viral online.
