Nanami, one of the characters, expressed his wish to visit a beach in Kuantan before meeting his demise. His words, "Kuantan would be nice," uttered in the episode, captivated the attention of not just anime enthusiasts but also garnered interest from Malaysians who might not typically follow the anime.
The initiative to contact the writers of Jujutsu Kaizen, as shared by state exco Leong Man Yu, aims to capitalize on the newfound fame of Kuantan's mention in the anime episode. Interestingly, fans of the anime played a role in influencing the state exco's decision, as reported by a local business radio station.
Leong revealed, "Fans of the episode had marked this in Google Maps as a memorial to Kento Nanami." In addition to this, he highlighted that some dedicated anime enthusiasts have proposed the construction of a memorial on the Kuantan beach in honor of Nanami.

The state government is now set to communicate with the anime's creator to seek approval for this proposal. Leong expressed optimism, stating, "We're hoping to get an endorsement from the creator of Jujutsu Kaizen so that the beach in Kuantan can become a tourist attraction for anime fans around the world."
