The government has announced an interstate travel ban to and from Sabah, starting next Monday (October 12th) till October 25th.
During his daily press briefing today (October 6th), Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there will only be exemptions for select cases, such as emergencies, deaths, essential services and others that will require prior approval from the Health Ministry (MOH).
“Those who have gotten the approval will have to undergo COVID-19 screening upon arrival at their destination,” he said.
Here are those exempted from this travel ban:
- Sabahans who hold H-code MyKads and spouses of Sabahans who have valid Malaysian immigration passes.
- Essential service workers with valid immigration passes.
- Non-Sabahans students with student passes from the Sabah Immigration Department.
- Permanent residents with a H-code MyPR card or permit endorsements in their passports.
Sabahans, please stay safe!
