The incident happened in the early hours of the morning while the family was asleep. The device, which had not been used for some time, reportedly burst into flames near the curtains in the master bedroom, causing the fire to spread quickly. Thick smoke filled the room, forcing the family to evacuate immediately.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly, and fortunately, no one was injured. However, the flames had already caused extensive damage, collapsing the roof and destroying personal belongings, including valuable electronic equipment. Losses are estimated to be more than RM20,000.

Although the lower floor and vehicles were spared, the homeowner shared that watching years of work and cherished possessions being lost to the fire was heartbreaking.

The case serves as a reminder of the risks posed by neglected or faulty electronic devices. To reduce the chances of such accidents, always store gadgets safely, avoid overcharging or using damaged batteries, and dispose of old devices responsibly.
