M’sians Sets Police Barricade On Fire, Not Happy About Interstate Travel Restrictions

Our frontliners have been working hard, risking their own health and safety just to make sure that Malaysians are safe against COVID-19.

However, there are still Malaysians who take the virus lightly and are not happy about the government’s decisions to implement the Movement Control Order (MCO).

In a Facebook post shared by the Besut District Police Department showed photos of police barricade and thorn fences that were destroyed and set on fire by some unhappy Malaysians

The caption reads: “It seems like there’s people who want to show that they are not happy when their jalan tikus are barred by the police.

“We thought that the community here would understand that when an MCO  is implemented, it means that the situation in the country is getting serious and that we are trying to keep them safe,”  it said.

Because of that, some people took it upon themselves to tear down the thorn fence and burn the police barricade that sealed the road between Besut, Terengganu and Pasir Putih, Kelantan.

Besut district police have now put up heavy stone barricades to seal the road.

Guys, this is irresponsible! Please don’t do this…

We need to work together if we want to help flatten the curve. Always abide by the SOPs when you’re out and about, wear a face mask and maintain physical distancing.

Stay at home and stay safe!
