It is finally a wrap for Euro 2020… and what a tournament it was!
From the one-year delay due to Covid-19…to Christian Eriksen’s collapse in Denmark’s opening game…France’s shock exit at the hands of Switzerland…and Italy being crowned champions…there are plenty of moments that will live on in our memories.

The Italians finally got the job done, beating England 3-2 in a penalty shootout after their final finished 1-1 at the end of regulation and extra time.
For Italy, it was their first European Championship crown in 53 years.
The Azzurri now have six major trophies to their name – two Euro titles and four World Cups.
Unfortunately for England, their 55-year wait for a major trophy continues with the 1966 World Cup the only title they’ve won so far.
Meanwhile, Italy keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named Euro 2020’s Player of the Tournament.
The 22-year-old kept three clean sheets and conceded four goals all tournament…and also saved two spot kicks in the shootout win over England.
Donnarumma is only the second keeper to win the award – after Denmark’s Peter Schmeichel in 1992.

Spain midfielder Pedri was named the Young Player of the Tournament.
The 18-year-old Barcelona star featured in all the Spaniard’s matches at Euro 2020.
This, as Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo finished as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals.
Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick had also scored five…but Ronaldo finished ahead thanks to a superior assist tally.
So after 31 days, 51 matches and 142 goals…we’re left with one champion and plenty of fond memories of Euro 2020.
Fortunately for football fans…we won’t have to wait long for another major football tournament – the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is just a year away!
