At a press conference, Loke explained that the enforcement will begin at both Johor ICQ complexes: the Johor Causeway and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link.
The VEP RFID tag costs RM10 and is valid for five years. Although the system was introduced in 2019, full enforcement will start on October 1st, 2024.
Singaporean vehicle owners can either bring their vehicles to Malaysia to install the RFID tag or request delivery for self-installation.
Loke urged all foreign vehicle owners from Singapore to register, install, and activate their VEP RFID tags within the next four months.
He noted that while over 200,000 vehicles have registered for the system, around 130,000 have yet to install their VEP RFID tags.
Failure to obtain a VEP RFID tag by the deadline will be considered an offence under Section 66H(7) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Offenders may face fines up to RM2,000 or up to six months imprisonment as per Section 119(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Alamat VCC adalah seperti berikut: VEP COLLECTION CENTRE (VCC) G Floor, Block 6, Danga Bay, Jalan Skudai 80200 Johor Bharu, Johor (Waktu Operasi: Rabu hingga Ahad – 9:00 pagi hingga 5:00 petang) #MalaysiaMadani #VEP

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has the authority to prevent foreign vehicles without VEP from entering or exiting Malaysia if there are unresolved matters under Section 66J of the Road Transport Act 1987, including outstanding traffic summonses.
Foreign vehicle owners from Singapore must settle all summonses before leaving Malaysia.
