Examinations Syndicate Denies Reports Of Changes To SPM Format

examinations syndicate denies reports of changes to spm format

The Malaysian Examinations Syndicate (MES) has denied recent reports claiming there will be changes to the 2020 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination format.

The report has caused confusion among students and parents, especially since SPM is just around the corner, due to begin on February 22nd.

“We want to emphasise that the SPM exam format for 2020 remains the same. We also want to stress that the report’s claims regarding future SPM exam formats are not true, the Examination Syndicate has not made any confirmation in relation to the matter,” MES said in an official statement.

It added that any changes to the SPM exam format and assessment system would be announced officially.

On a side note, 2020 SPM as well as Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM) candidates will not have face-to-face classes starting this Wednesday (February 10th), to give them a break for Chinese New Year and to self-study before the exam kicks off in two weeks’ time.

Our students don’t need to get worked up by fake news, guys. They’re stressed enough as it is.
