A giant tree fell on a car along Jalan Perak earlier this morning (April 27th), killing the driver.
According to The Star, George Town OCPD was alerted of the incident at around 9:40am.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations officer A'azelan Hassan said upon arrival at the scene, they found the uprooted tree across the road, crushing the car below.

Videos taken by netizens showed passersby crowding the vehicle attempting to free the driver.
JBPM confirmed that only one person was involved in the incident.
Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the JBPM personnel are currently cutting the tree into pieces to clear the road.
