2020 has been a rough year thus far, and if you’re having one too, our friends at MIX are ready to hear you out today!
As part of their #MIXStandingWithYouDay campaign today (7 August), the MIX announcers will be staying silent for the whole day today, to listen to you.
“We decided to do this campaign to reflect on the year, since it’s been unpredictable and challenging, and everyone is fighting their own battles. It’s a good opportunity to address and give a platform for people to talk in a safe place and not be afraid to say what’s on your mind because you never know when someone is going through a hard time just because they appear happy,” said Content Manager for MIX, Shahreena Hamirin.
Ashley from the MIX Days told us, “I think it’s to normalise people talking about their issues. I especially feel like, ‘When it’s my problem and I don’t want to share it with you’. So we want to let people know that we’re here for them.”
“You’re really not alone. If you feel lonely, just call us, we’re here to chat and listen,” she added.
The campaign is inspired by Malaysian-born Australian singer Guy Sebastian's latest single "Standing With You", a song about his cousin's battle with depression.
