BSC Cleared Of Suspected COVID-19 Positive Case

It’s always scary to hear of a COVID-19 positive case being confirmed in shopping malls because those are areas of high foot-traffic and high risk of widespread transmission. Following the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, several malls in the Klang Valley have had confirmed positive COVID-19 cases.

On Sunday, 11th October 2020, news broke that a staff member of a luxury skincare brand located in Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) had tested positive for COVID-19. 

The BSC management took swift action in closing the mall for disinfection. The store had also closed all its outlets pending further testing of their employees.

Yesterday both the brand and BSC took to Facebook to announce the good news that the employee who had initially tested positive for COVID-19 has been cleared by two further negative test results.

The skincare brand also reassured patrons and members of the community that 95% of the other staff members had also tested negative while 5% of the staff members are still awaiting their results which should be due soon. 

Nonetheless, CMCO has begun in Klang Valley and we should all continue to practice the utmost precaution when in public spaces.
