The governor discussed the significant uptick in interest surrounding Yaowarat Road, Bangkok’s vibrant Chinatown, where much of Lisa's "ROCKSTAR" music video was filmed. This surge in popularity has prompted a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the area for both locals and tourists.

Chadchart Sittipunt has committed to making Yaowarat Road cleaner, a formidable task given the area's usual hustle and bustle. He outlined plans to improve accessibility to public toilets and manage traffic more effectively to accommodate the growing number of visitors.

During a recent visit to Chinatown, the governor identified specific issues such as parked taxis and "tuk-tuks" that contribute to traffic congestion. He also emphasised the need to improve hygiene by increasing the number of rubbish bins and addressing the persistent sewage odours.

Since the release of "ROCKSTAR" on June 28, Yaowarat Road has experienced a noticeable increase in foot traffic, with fans flocking to the area and sharing their experiences on social media. The attention has shone a spotlight on Chinatown, driving efforts to enhance its appeal and infrastructure.

With Lisa’s influence spurring these changes, Bangkok’s Chinatown is set to become an even more attractive destination.

The city’s efforts to improve the area reflect the powerful impact of cultural icons and their ability to inspire positive change.
