A tour van carrying four badminton players, including badminton world number one, Kento Momota crashed into a lorry at the Maju Expressway (MEX Highway) this morning (January 13th), resulting in the injuries of the players and sadly, the death of their driver.

24 year old N. Bavan was stuck between his seat and the back of a lorry and was killed on the spot.
According to The Star, Momota suffered a broken nose, fractured cheekbone and received stitches to his lips.
Two other Japanese victims in the accident includes 35-year-old badminton coach, Hirayama Yu and 42-year-old physiotherapist, Morimoto Akifumi.
Another victim was identified as William Thomas, a 30-year-old Badminton World Federation technical officer from Britain.
All four of them are in stable condition, and are currently being treated at the Putrajaya Hospital, where they’re said to be recovering well.
They were on their way to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), after being involved in the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2020 badminton tournament, in which Momota won in the men’s singles category.
