6 Factory Workers In Penang Charged For Using Fake MC, 3 Jailed For 5 Days

Alamak! Do not use fake MCs, guys. You can actually go to jail for it!

Six factory workers were charged for using fake medical certificates at a factory in Bukit Seminyak, Seberang Perai.

According to Sinar Harian, the doctor allegedly involved with the fake medical certificate said that the six individuals deceived their employers by using his stamp and signature which were allegedly forged.

The doctor used to work in the Outpatient Division at Bukit Mertajam Hospital (HBM), and his contract expired in 2017.

Two of the workers, 28-year-old Mohamad Hafizi Zainuddin and 19-year-old Muhammad Amir Md Ishak pleaded guilty to the charges, with knowledge that the medical cetificates were forged on 26th October, 2020 and 22nd February, 2021 respectively. 

Both men were fined RM2,700 each and sentenced to five days in prison.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Nurul Izzah Abdul Razak, who was charged with the same offence on February 13th, pleaded not guilty.

The fourth accused, 23-year-old Muhamad Zulhakimi pleaded guilty to the same charge of forging a medical certificate on December 26th, and was fined RM3,500 and sentenced to five days in prison from the date of conviction. 

21-year-old Nur Farah Amira Alisham was charged with using a forged medical certificate on January 23rd and pleaded not guilty, while Marsya Fatini Mohd Rani, 20-years-old, also pleaded not guilty to two charges of forging medical certificates on February 4th and February 26th.
