If you’ve been to Taiwan, then you probably might’ve heard about Eslite, one of the biggest bookstore chains in Taiwan (with a total of 48 outlets in the country alone!).
Good news for Malaysian book lovers! Eslite Bookstore is expected to open its first-ever Malaysian outlet in Kuala Lumpur, which will most likely be the first outlet in the Southeast Asia region too!

How exciting!
The first Eslite bookstore opened in 1989 by Robert Wu Ching-Yu, and initially sold books on art and humanity before it expanded to more genres - and a decade later the company now operates 24-hours a day, making it one of the few bookstore chains in the world to open around the clock.
So if you’re the type who loves reading at night, then this might be just the place for you!
The bookstore is estimated to be around 3,300 to 6,600 square meters. That’s about as big as The White House!

The bookstore will most likely feature not only books, but along with the well-known Eslite cafe where customers can order drinks and food that are similar to the ones served in Taipei, Taiwan.
Though it is expected to open in 2021, the official date is still uncertain for now due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
We can’t wait to explore and discover different genres while breathing in the smell of new books!
