Don’t know what to cook for Hari Raya? Why not try making this dessert dish from Oman called Halwa Muskat!
It’s no surprise that our Queen, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah is a great cook, but she’s also very generous with her loyal Instagram followers in sharing some of her recipes with them.
Recently, Tunku Azizah shared a recipe of the traditional process of preparing halwa muskat, her way!
In the seven-part video, Her Majesty, assisted by a royal palace chef, demonstrated how to properly knead the dough and rinse it to separate the dough and the gluten. “The rinsing process takes a lot of time, we need to be patient and do it gently to avoid the water from spilling out,” she said in the video.
The water is then filtered and left to rest overnight.
Tunku Azizah also shared a photo of the flour water in a pot with a label that said “Jangan sentuh langsung. Jangan tolak atau tarik!”
“Consider this a warning to everyone. Do not touch or I will pull your ears and tap your fingers” she wrote in the caption, which gained over 40 thousand likes.
It looks delicious! We would love to try and do it too, but we don’t think we have that much patience.
