The 2020 Hot Wheels Legends Tour Malaysia, organised by the Art of Speed Malaysia (AOS), was held as a virtual tour earlier this month, and although winner Ravinder Singh didn’t take the top prize at the global stage, he did earn some bragging rights from the competition.

Popular American TV Host, Jay Leno; that’s right, THE Jay Leno took notice of Ravinder’s car!

In case you didn’t know, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour is a global search for real-life, full-size custom cars of any make or model.

Ravinder, who won the Malaysian leg of the tour, advanced to the global stage in Los Angeles, US, where his entry stood a chance to be translated into a 1:64 scale die-cast model and sold to Hot Wheels fans and collectors around the world.

Ravinder didn’t win, but his entry, Mercenary, earned an honourable mention from host Leno himself, who loved the creativity and the combination of engines and accessories that matched the car because most of the parts aren’t available in the US.

The Mercenary is a car modified from a Morris Minor, a Mercedes engine and has parts from Volkswagen.

Some of the judges thought it looked very fierce and 'evil', like a car heading to hell, but we think it looks so cool!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, here’s the entry that won…

Ravinder is an electrical engineering graduate who is now the owner of The Classic Garage in Johor, and is very active in the custom car community in Malaysia.

Congratulations, Ravinder!
