The SYOK team had the incredible opportunity to catch Epik High live in Kuala Lumpur for their THE PUMP TOUR ASIA 2024, and it was nothing short of spectacular.
Held last Friday (2nd August) at the HGH Convention Centre in Sentul, the concert was a blast from start to finish.
Epik High, the iconic hip-hop trio consisting of Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz, has been in the industry since 2001 and showed no signs of slowing down. As we entered the venue, it was already buzzing with excitement, packed with fans eagerly awaiting the performance. At 8:30 PM sharp, the trio burst onto the stage with their high-energy hits "Pretty Much," "ANTI-HERO," and "Fly," setting the tone for an electrifying night.
The fans, singing along to every word, shared a unique and heartwarming bond with the group. Epik High's comedic interactions and hilarious banter made it feel like we were at a comedy show rather than a concert. The connection they have with their fans is truly something special.
Some standout performances of the night included "K-Drama," "Eyes Nose Lips" (a song featuring Taeyang from Big Bang), "Screen Time" (featuring SEVENTEEN's Hoshi), "Kill This Love," "High Technology," and "New Beautiful." Each song brought a new wave of energy and excitement, with fans going wild for every beat.
A memorable highlight was when Tablo came closer to the fans at the barricade, taking their phones to record videos—a dream come true for many. The interaction between the members and the audience was unforgettable and added a personal touch to the already phenomenal show.
As the night drew to a close, Epik High performed their final songs, the fan-favourites "BORN HATER" and "Don't Hate Me," leaving the audience in a euphoric state. This wasn't Epik High's first show in Kuala Lumpur, but it was clear that they remain as captivating as ever, delivering a performance that was both nostalgic and fresh.
The fans' energy was infectious, and Epik High matched it every step of the way, creating a night that will be remembered by all who attended. We hope Epik High enjoyed their time in Kuala Lumpur as much as we enjoyed having them and eagerly anticipate their return.
