LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort has unveiled a series of life-size LEGO Frontliner Murals as a tribute to the admirable contributors in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Adding to its colourful surroundings, the stunning creations will be displayed at LEGOLAND Theme Park to inspire visitors and Malaysians at large to remember their merits for the nation.
Initiated by the resort’s employees with the help of the Malaysian LEGO Building community, a total of five murals were completed in 9 days using over 150,000 pieces of LEGO bricks. Wow, that’s impressive!
These inspiring displays depict portraits of frontliners who have dedicated themselves to ensure safety and restore the lives of Malaysians, including doctors, medical practitioners, government officials, policemen, and the armed forces.
Not to forget, the murals also feature various essential workers from delivery riders to cleaners and media personnel!
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to YAB Datuk Haji Hasni Mohammad, Chief Minister of Johor, YB Dato' Sri Dr Adham Baba, Minister of Health and YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Haji Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Dato' Haji A. Rahim Nin, State Financial Officer of Johor, YB Vidyananthan Ramanadhan, Health and Environment Exco of Johor, YB Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Tourism, Youth and Sports Exco of Johor, YB Dato' Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, Chief Police of Johor and dignitaries for officiating the launch of our newest attraction, LEGO® Frontliner Tribute Murals. The murals were built by the LEGOLAND Team as a tribute to the admirable Frontliners in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the murals, we have given 3,000 park access tickets to frontliners from government departments such as the Johor State Government, Royal Malaysian Police Johor , Malaysian Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue Department Johor and the Johor State Health Department. During the event, we also announced the introduction of the Play in LEGOLAND, Stay in Johor packages which will give Malaysians a chance to have a hassle-free holiday in Johor at a great value. Divisional Director at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, C.S Lim said: “Our LEGO murals are made in thoughts of the unwavering efforts from our frontliners to keep our nation safe. We would like to thank the Malaysian government and every single frontliner for their indomitable dedication, determination, and courage in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Minister of Health, YB Dato’ Sri Adham Baba said: “The Ministry of Health hopes that the murals will serve as a reminder and educational point for Malaysians to remain steadfast in adhering to the Covid-19 SOPs that have been outlined. With the joint effort of the government and private institutions such as LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort we hope to perpetuate this culture of the new normal amongst all Malaysians so that we can continue to restart our economy.”
The honours and appreciation do not stop just at the murals...
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is also returning the favour to the frontliners with a well-deserved break at the resort. A total of 3,000 park access tickets were presented to representatives from five departments including the Johor State Government, Royal Malaysian Police Johor, Malaysian Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue Department Johor, and the Johor State Health Department.
A host of special deals are also available exclusively for the frontliners, including 50% off day passes and hotel stay at LEGOLAND Hotel.
