AI Technology to Impact Nine Key Industries
According to Dr. Muhammad Aiman Arifin, a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Management and Business (Human Resources) of Universiti Teknologi Mara, this technology will have an impact on individuals' opportunities to enter nine major fields by 2030.

He acknowledges that AI technology can be somewhat helpful to certain industries. However, according to him, it can also have different effects on specific sectors.
"The first effect is that it will render human labor unnecessary as it will be completely replaced by AI," he says.
He explains that the second effect depends on employers' decisions to combine humans and robots to ensure smooth operations, while the third effect is the continued reliance on human labor.
Empowering Workers through Skill Enhancement and Retraining Programs
Last Monday (26th June), the media reported that 4.5 million Malaysians could lose their jobs if they do not enhance their skills (upskilling) and undergo retraining (reskilling).
According to the Minister of Human Resources, V. Sivakumar, the World Economic Forum 2020 predicted a decline in job markets in certain industries due to the use of AI technology.
Acknowledging this, Aiman points out that AI technology is now being increasingly used in the food industry, such as the deployment of food and beverage delivery robots in restaurants.
To bridge the gap between technology and human labor, he believes that workers need to enhance their skills through skill enhancement programs and retraining.
"We need to focus on improving skills and honing the talents of the existing workforce to meet the industry's demands; otherwise, the prediction of 4.5 million people losing their jobs will become a reality," he says.
Previously, the World Economic Forum 2020 listed several jobs and industries that will be affected by the replacement of human labor with AI technology.
