Sungei Wang Plaza posted on their official Facebook page a hashtag #DontGiveUpMalls and tagged Suria KLCC, Sunway Pyramid, 1 Utama, Mid Valley Megamall, The LINC, Paradigm Mall, and other major malls in the Klang Valley, urging them not to give up.
The post said: “It’s been a very difficult time, for each and every one of us. Worry not, as we will rise again once all this ends. Don’t give up, as we will fight together as one.”
Responding to the post, NU Sentral wrote: “We got each other’s backs. Sending love from NU Sentral Shopping Centre.”
“Indeed this pandemic has greatly affected our shopping malls, but let’s keep our hearts together for better days,” said Jaya One.
Of course, malls from outside of the Klang Valley area also sent their love to the other malls: “Keep safe, and remember that this too shall pass,” said Penang Gurney Plaza.
Retail outlets, not wanting to miss the fun also commented on the post. Watsons Malaysia urged Malaysians to always stay positive, safe, and strong, “We’re already in this together,” they said.
7-Eleven, a convenience store thanked Sungei Wang Plaza for spreading positivity during this difficult time, “Sending all our love to everyone. From us at 7-Eleven Malaysia.”
The state of Selangor, including Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, have been put on conditional movement control order (CMCO) from 14 October to 27 October, which caused the declining numbers of people visiting malls in the Klang Valley area.
On Sunday (18 October) Malaysia recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases ever since the pandemic began in January.
Stay safe, everyone. We’re all in this together!
