We Are Rooting For This Malaysian Designer To Make The Cut

Malaysian designers are making waves in Hollywood!

We all know Jimmy Choo, a Penangnite whose shoes are loved by every A-list celebrities in Hollywood.

...and recently we spotted Katy Perry donning Khoon Hooi’s design at the annual 2019 Jingle Ball holiday concert in Minnesota. 

Now we’ve got another local designer that is about to make the country proud! 

New York-based Malaysian fashion designer Jasmine Chong is set to be a part of Amazon Prime’s upcoming fashion reality show, ‘Making The Cut’, that is set to premiere on 27 March. 

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Jasmine is the owner of her self-named ready-to-wear luxury line, has shown at NYFW a couple of times, and has also had her line featured in a number of fashion magazines worldwide!

The show will be hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn of Project Runway fame, and will see 12 designers competing to win USD$1 million prize to invest in their brands - That is around RM4.2 million!
