Taiwan’s veteran songstress Chyi Yu, dubbed the “Voice of an Angel”, is set to make her first live appearance in Malaysia in nearly seven years at her upcoming solo concert here.
Organised by SunStrong Entertainment, Chyi Yu Forever Splendor 2025 Live Concert in Kuala Lumpur will take the crowd at Mega Star Arena on a nostalgic journey on 26th April (Saturday), 8pm. Debuted in 1979, Chyi Yu is known for her soft, ethereal voice that hits right in the feels as she harmonises a blend of folk, classical and pop with finesse. Her ever-popular hits, including “The Olive Tree” (Gǎn Lǎn Shù) and “The Bird and The Fish” (Fēi Niǎo Yǔ Yù), resonate with listeners across generations.
Chyi Yu’s return to Malaysia also signifies her lasting recognition globally. Fans can look forward to her impeccable delivery of classic after classic, such as “Smiling Face” (Huān Yán), “Boat Song” (Chuán Gē), Dream Land (Mèng Tián), High Heels of September (Jiǔ Yuè De Gāo Gēn Xié) and “People in Love” (Tiān Xià Yǒu Qíng Rén). These memory-evoking numbers will tug at concertgoers’ heartstrings, along with her renditions of English-language folk songs like “Stories”, “Whoever Finds This, I Love You” and “Angel”, among others. Her music, being timeless treasures in the Mandopop sphere, has an enduring legacy, as seen in her “Smiling Face” (Huān Yán) duet with new-gen star Zhou Shen at the Beijing Radio & Television Station (BRTV) New Year’s Gala not long ago.
