The SYOK team had the incredible opportunity to witness TAEMIN live at his 2024 <Ephemeral Gaze> solo concert in Malaysia.

This year has been truly remarkable for Malaysian SHINee fans, as two members of the group were scheduled to hold solo concerts in the country. Although Onew’s fan meeting in KL last July was cancelled, Malaysian SHAWOLs had their hearts mended by the maknae of the group, who finally made his much-anticipated appearance.

The last time any of the SHINee members graced a stage in Kuala Lumpur was during the Golden Disk Awards in 2013—at least as far as we remember! If they have visited since then, do let us know, as we may have missed it.

As fans who grew up listening to SHINee’s music, the SYOK team couldn’t contain our excitement for TAEMIN’s concert last Saturday (7th September) at the Malawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam. We arrived around 6 PM to collect our media passes, surrounded by fans dressed in yellow and proudly wielding their SHINee lightsticks. It was surreal to see the iconic lightsticks glowing in a Malaysian concert hall—what a moment!

At 7 PM sharp, Taemin took the stage, sending the crowd into a frenzy. He kicked off the night with electrifying performances of "Deja Vu," "Guilty," and "Advice." His dancing was simply outstanding, and his backup dancers complemented his moves flawlessly. Without a doubt, Taemin remains one of the best dancers in South Korea, and he showcased his talents with every step.

Taemin greeted his Malaysian fans warmly, expressing how much he had missed them. To everyone’s delight, he even introduced himself in Bahasa, saying, "Apa khabar? Nama saya TAEMIN!" The audience roared with approval.

He then continued to captivate the crowd with hits like "Goodbye," "IDEA," and "Heaven," before slowing things down with heartfelt ballads such as "I'm Crying," "Clockwork," "Not Over You," and "Blue."

True to his cheeky and playful personality, Taemin interacted with his fans in his charming English, often affectionately dubbed "Taemglish" by SHAWOLs. His unique pronunciation and endearing effort to communicate in English left fans swooning over how "ooodorable" he was.

Of course, Taemin couldn't leave behind his signature sexy persona, thrilling the audience with sensational performances of "G.O.A.T," "The Rizzness," "MOVE," "WANT," and "Criminal."

Malaysian SHAWOLs also prepared a heartfelt video tribute for Taemin, and watching his reaction melted our hearts. His happiness was evident in his beaming smile as he looked at the fan-prepared slogan, softly saying, "Thank you so much, Malaysian fans."

As the concert drew to a close, Taemin performed a few slower tracks, allowing the fans to join in singing along. He ended the night with the fitting song "Say Less," a perfect finale to an unforgettable evening. Taemin exceeded all our expectations, delivering a performance that was both thrilling and emotional.

Thank you, Taemin, for coming to see us! We hope you enjoyed your time in Malaysia as much as we did. We can't wait to welcome you back again soon!
