Seventeen-year-old Ooi Tianjia stole the spotlight and was crowned Male Idol Champion, impressing both judges and audience with his natural charisma and versatile performance skills. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Ng Xin Yi, adored for her charm and soaring popularity, was named Female Idol Champion and also took home the coveted Most Popular Award—making her the only double-title winner of the night.

Jment Lim, Founder of Thousands of Years Media and SunStrong Entertainment, delivered a keynote speech during the event, celebrating the success of ToYm’s debut micro drama, In Character, which received overwhelming positive response. Buoyed by this milestone, he expressed strong confidence in Malaysia’s micro drama market and announced plans to produce more than five new Chinese and Malay-language micro drama series. This initiative aims to accelerate the growth of local original content while nurturing the next generation of acting talent and digital storytellers.

Held at the prestigious Andaman Grand Ballroom in Kuala Lumpur, the grand event unfolded across five hours of intense and inspiring competition. Twenty-four finalists battled through three main segments: a talent showcase, a dramatic group performance, and a live impromptu Q&A—each designed to uncover star quality and crown the very best. The contestants were divided into four groups of six. Each began with a 15-second self- introduction video, followed by a solo talent performance of up to two minutes. They then entered the high-pressure “Golden 10 Seconds” segment—a fast-paced appeal for live audience support that charged the atmosphere with excitement.

Beyond individual performances, each group collaborated on a 10-minute dramatic skit, offering a platform to display their acting range and group synergy. Following the skits, emcees Owen Yap and Chrystina Ng conducted live interviews to assess the contestant’s composure, personality, and ability to think on their feet—adding another layer of challenge and entertainment to the night.

In the Male Idol category, Ooi Tianjia captivated with his dynamic versatility—starting with an emotional self-composed ballad on guitar, then seamlessly transitioning into a high-energy rendition of Billie Jean with a Latin dance twist. His rich performance, blending vocal ability, musicality, and commanding stage presence, earned him the championship crown.
