One of the most sought-after curry dishes in Malaysia is no other than the fish head curry or known as kari kepala ikan in Malay.
The dish is commonly found at many Indian eateries like mamak, and is ordered as an additional dish to go with steamed white rice. Ahh, sedap!

Recently, a woman on Facebook recounted how her family had ordered a pot of fish head curry for dinner at a local restaurant, and discovered that the fish head still had the fishing hook attached. Alamak!
“Unbelievable! The fish still had the fishing hook attached. Thankfully my father saw it when he was poking the fish with a spoon, instead of putting it straight into his mouth.
“What if someone had accidentally bitten into it? What if it was a child? What if they weren’t paying attention and accidentally ate the fish hook?” she said in the caption.
She then immediately called the waiter over to show them the fish hook, and the waiter simply said: “We’re sorry, the kitchen is very messy at the moment.”
The customer waited for at least an apology from the chef, however, the restaurant owner claimed that it was “none of their business and it was the supplier’s fault,” and declined to offer any sort of compensation or discount.
But he then apologised for the mistake and eventually gave the family a discount of 60 sen off their total bill of RM298.60. Oh wow, how very generous!
This is very disappointing. The restaurant owner should be responsible and at least apologize to the customer as it is very unhygienic and dangerous!
