Feeling weighed down by personal struggles, she decided to place a food delivery order and requested her fried rice to be made as spicy as possible. Her message to the vendor was unusually detailed, as she explained her situation and why she needed something fiery to distract her from emotional pain.

The story was shared on the Penang Kini Facebook page, where it quickly gained attention for the vendor's heartfelt response.

According to the post, the woman wrote, “Can you please make the fried rice insanely spicy? I am very stressed. My slippers were destroyed by a dog, the gas in my house ran out, my exams are tough, and my boyfriend is acting like I don’t exist. I do not want to hurt myself, so I’ve decided to eat spicy food instead. Thank you so much if you can make it really spicy. I’m sorry for the trouble.”

Rather than just fulfilling the order, the vendor sent her meal with a handwritten note that offered both encouragement and humour.

The note read, “Sweetie, stay strong, okay! The dog was not at fault; perhaps the slippers were already about to break. As for your boyfriend, maybe he is just a useless man. Somewhere out there, a good and kind ‘green flag’ boyfriend is waiting for you. Enjoy your insanely spicy fried rice. Hugs!”

The vendor ended the message by kindly asking the customer to leave a good review, joking that they, too, would feel stressed otherwise.

The gesture has been widely praised online, with many Malaysians touched by the vendor’s empathy and warmth. Comments on the post expressed how small acts of kindness, even as simple as a supportive note, can make a real difference in someone’s life.

“Sometimes, even a short note like this can save someone who is emotionally fragile. May both the sender and receiver be blessed and protected,” one user commented.

Another added, “People today are under so much pressure. A few kind words can bring peace to a troubled soul. You never know when your words might save someone.”
