Although Valentine's Day is traditionally associated with giving flowers to a significant other, acts of kindness can extend beyond romantic gestures—even from a stranger.

A video capturing a kind-hearted elderly man handing out roses to passersby at a serviced apartment in Kuala Lumpur has gained widespread attention online.
TikTok user @ainafrz__ posted a short, 13-second clip showing the man offering her a rose outside WULI Café at Shamelin Star Residence on 14 February. Holding several stalks in one hand, he can be heard saying, "Happy Valentine, take care," as he hands her the flower.
She later noticed him distributing roses to others passing by the café, bringing smiles to many. Others also shared their experiences of receiving roses from this mysterious "Valentine's Day Uncle."
One commenter recalled, "I got a rose from this uncle too on my way from class! He wasn’t just giving them to the girls—he handed them out to the boys as well. They were so surprised,” while another shared, "This uncle gave my friends flowers yesterday. The café is actually a bingsu shop that shares space with a phone accessories store."
Many netizens praised his kind gesture, with some calling for him to be "protected at all costs." Others admitted they would have been moved to tears had they been on the receiving end of his thoughtful act.
One user recounted a personal experience with the uncle, highlighting his kindness beyond just Valentine's Day. "This uncle is so nice. He was my neighbour, and when I had COVID, he gave me cough medicine."
Reflecting on the heartwarming moment, @ainafrz__ remarked, "Men nowadays need to take notes from this uncle, for real."
