Fans, affectionately known as STAYs, were abuzz with anticipation before the event, hoping for some interesting celebrity encounters. Among the most awaited was a potential face-to-face between Stray Kids' Bang Chan and Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds, who have developed a playful online friendship.
Sadly, Reynolds didn't make an appearance. However, Marvel fans were thrilled when another Avenger showed up: Chris Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor, the "God of Thunder."
Changbin, one of Stray Kids' rappers, took to bubble for JYPNation to share his excitement about meeting Hemsworth at the Met Gala. His message conveyed the wonder of the experience, as if living out a dream.
"Yesterday was a really precious experience. It was the most successful fan story of all successful fan stories. It’s incredible that it wasn’t a dream," he wrote.
Changbin revealed that Hemsworth was every bit as powerful as his Marvel character. He recalled how the actor effortlessly lifted him, comparing the experience to being handled like Thor's iconic hammer, Mjölnir. He marveled at Hemsworth's height and strength, admitting that he felt like a lightweight in his presence.
The moment was so surreal that Changbin expressed his gratitude to the group and their fans for making it possible. "These things all happened thanks to the fact that I could become Changbin of Stray Kids. Thank you Stray Kids, and thank you STAY," he added.
Bang Chan also confirmed that the group interacted with Hemsworth, along with other notable figures like Steve Yeun and Ben Simmons.
STAYs, naturally, are eager to see visual proof of the encounter. The online fandom is already buzzing with memes and playful interpretations of what the meeting between Changbin and Hemsworth must have looked like. The excitement is palpable as fans wonder who they need to bribe to get a photo or video of the moment.
Interestingly, this wasn't Hemsworth's first connection to Stray Kids. He previously went viral for signing a Felix photocard for a STAY, leaving fans wondering if he recognized the K-Pop idol.
The connection between Marvel and K-Pop continues to entertain fans across the globe, and the Met Gala encounter only adds to the fun.
