Singaporean Uncle Purchase Flat Screen TV For RM625, Receives Tissue Packet Instead!

An elderly man from Singapore was recently lured into purchasing a flat-screen television online only to receive a tissue packet instead.

According to China Press, the 61-year-old Shen opted to replace his broken television with a new 32-inch flat-screen model and was attracted by its affordable price of SGD$138, which is around RM 624.45!

After four days, the item was delivered to his address but when he opened the package to find a packet of tissues, he was completely taken aback.

He then went on to contact the customer service department of the e-commerce platform and informed them of the problem, but he was told to go through several steps before issuing a refund.

"They instructed me to wait for the seller's acceptance of the item's return, assess whether a refund is feasible following the seller's receipt of the item, and only then start the refund procedure.

A step can take three to five working days to complete. So it might take up to a month to finish the entire process, he explained.

Fortunately, Shen was able to get his money back after his story went viral on social media, and he advised others to take precautions when making online purchases to avoid falling victim to scams like his.

Glad he got his money back!

Be careful when buying things online. Read through the descriptions carefully and if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
